I'm a paramedic, so I've seen these kinds of burns before, and I can't believe you didn't go to the emergency room! I can tell you that the long waits at ERs are for bogus stuff ("my head hurts" "I've got a weird bump on my arm" etc.) and at most ERs, if you go in with that sort burn, you'll get seen right away.
