Rising to fame as a stand-up comic in the new millennium, Philadelphia native Kevin Hart is arguably the most popular comedian in the world today thanks to his hilariously funny performances in films like Think Like a Man, About Last Night and Get Hard. But, regardless of how funny the 37-year-old star is, his home is certainly no laughing matter. Nestled in San Fernando Valley’s Tarzana community just outside of Los Angeles, Hart’s stunning home encompasses 6,459 square feet with every nook and cranny standing as a tribute to his hard-fought path to success.
Originally built in 2000 and purchased by Hart discreetly in 2012, the mansion rests inside the posh and prestigious gated community known as Mulholland Park and boasts seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. Its exterior is just as exquisite as the interior with a stunning beige façade highlighted by an arched front door and enhanced by simple landscaping featuring California’s iconic palm trees, a small manicured lawn and large planters filled with elegant flowers lining the walk to the front door. A quick peek into the backyard is just as breathtaking with a pool situated fairly close to the back of the home for the utmost convenience and privacy.
Walking inside, the interior of Hart’s home is understated and modest for a celebrity of his stature in Hollywood. To put it simply, it’s gorgeous and elegant from the floor plan and layout down to every detail of décor. A spectacular cathedral ceiling greets guests in the great room with French doors and a crafted fireplace that is certainly the focal point of the room. A bridal staircase grants access to the upstairs where most of the bedrooms open onto glorious terraces that offer stunning views of San Fernando Valley’s exquisite countryside. But, aside from the beauty of the home itself, what made Hart choose Tarzana?
Location, location, location! Built primarily on the ranch formerly owned by Tarzan creator Edgar Rice Burroughs in the early 1920s, Hart was enamored by the small community stretching across nearly nine square miles and didn’t think twice about spending a portion of his $62 million net worth on his home sweet home. With a population of 37,778 people and a density of 4,038 people per square mile according to the United States Census in 2008, some might think that Tarzana is a little too crowded for a celebrity like Hart but that’s certainly not the case since a long list of actors, actresses, musicians and athletes like Chris Brown, Demi Lovato, Iggy Azalea, Blake Lively, Jon Lovitz, Jim Rome and dozens of others share the same zip code.
But, is Hart’s Tarzana estate only a starter home? Two things give us reason to believe the funnyman just might up and move in the very near future. First things first, Hart’s lavish abode recently made headlines when burglars allegedly broke in and stole $500,000 worth of jewelry and cash. And, although Tarzana boasts one of the lowest crime rates in California, this incident might give Hart enough reason to hit the trail with his two children and wife in tow.
If that doesn’t do the trick, then it just might be the money in the bank! Quickly ascending the ranks of Hollywood, Hart recently starred opposite Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson—who just so happens to be the highest paid actor in Hollywood—in the June 2016 release of Central Intelligence. With the blockbuster bringing in over $212 million at the box office, the film’s incredible success padded Hart’s already impressive $62 million net worth and undoubtedly left him hoping for even more good fortune with upcoming flicks like Captain Underpants and the remakes of Jumanji and The Untouchables. And, with nothing stopping him from spending some of his hard-earned millions however he likes, there just might be another real estate venture in the near future. After all, can a celebrity like Hart have too many houses?
